Butterfly Garden at Jamestown Marina
Despite a drought in May, the Pipevine, which is a host for Pipevine Swallowtail, is growing nicely on the fence and the Butterfly Weed, a host for Monarchs, is blooming well. Another 40 or so types of plants make up the garden, which the Observatory has restored over the past 4 years. Visitors to the marina and Billsburg Brewery enjoy the plants and pollinators and our new sign. This male Delaware Skipper was there on May 25 establishing a new early date for the area.
